How to fill in the TDX/Teseo section of the Online deposit

When you fill in the Online Thesis Deposit, there is a section about TDX/Teseo, where you must choose some options related to the publication of the thesis in TDX.

Immediate or delayed publication (embargo)

Select if the publication in TDX must be immediate or you would prefer to apply an embargo.
The embargo will delay the DISPLAY of the thesis full text, and it is usually required due to reasons like these:

  • you expect to publish articles and/or books in the near future
  • research is still underway
  • any other reason, justification is not required

If you mark that you want an embargo (I decline), you must select for number of months (options available 6, 12, 18 or 24 months).

Thesis with knowledge protection or technology transfer issues

What you select here is merely informative. If your thesis has issues of knowledge protection or technology transfer (patent application, confidentiality agreements, etc), you must contact your department before depositing the thesis. There is a special procedure in place for these cases.

All rights reserved or open access licence

You have to choose between two licence options for the publication in TDX.

  • All rights reserved
  • ONE of the Creative Commons (CC) Licences.

UPF does not recommend a specific option.

If you do not know about Creative Commons licenses, you can find more information in the Library guide:

Codes and keywords

Open the section Codes for indexing the thesis in TDX, and select the most appropriate for the content of the thesis.

In Keywords, add as many keywords as you need, at least in the language of the thesis (ideally, in all three languages). Keywords will enhance the retrieval of the thesis.

With the option  add more boxes for more keywords, with option  you can delete them.

Thesis summary

Open the section Explanatory summary, and write an abstract at least in the thesis language, and ideally, in all three.

Other sections related to TDX

In the section Attach thesis, fill in the box of legal terms and conditions that you should read carefully. They apply to the deposit and reading, but also the publication in TDX. You acknowledge that:

  • You are the author of the thesis, and it is an original work
  • You are not transferring any publication rights to UPF or TDX
  • The thesis does not infringe on third party rights
