Service description

The FTPs service (File Transfer Protocol secure) allows you to upload and download data from the shared files server (disk.rp.upf.edu). This can be done from any device connected to the Internet without specific VPN connection (Virtual Private Network).

¿What does FTP service offer?

  • Anytime, anywhere data disposal: any PC with Internet connection can securely access the data.  
  • File system permission: the access to the files is protected by a password.
  • Backup: the contents of the network disks are backed up every night.  
  • Encryption with TLS : The way the information is sent prevents it to be displayed without a password. 

Service details

The server ftp.rp.upf.edu gives you access to your data though secure FTP connection. The connection to this server is established through FTP clients that support the secure FTP protocol, like FileZilla or WinSCP.

Once we’re connected the server, a list of all the folders will be displayed. In the left part of the window you have access to the files available in your local computer, and in the right part to the files uploaded to the server. We can copy files or change their location by dragging and dropping them from one folder to another.
